Rice milling process is all about producing edible milled rice after separating the husk (20%), the bran layers (11% ) & clean rice (69%) aka starchy endosperm. In an ideal milling process this will result in 20% husk, 8−12% bran depending on the milling degree and 68−72% milled rice or white rice depending on the variety.

From Raw to Refined: Unleashing Precision through Milling
Paddy Rice cleaning process also called rice paddy cleaning process. It is first step in rice milling systems after rice paddy comes for milling process in rice mill from Rice farms. Paddy always comes up having a lot of external material including weed, soil, seeds, etc. And these external things need to be removed before taking it to the hulling processes, so that the efficiency of the huller, as well as milling, would not get affected.
If they are not removed properly then the efficiency of the rice mill machinery can be reduced. The capacity of the paddy pre-cleaner is actually, 1.5 times the milling capacity. It makes rice milling an ideal in this modern age.

1. Cleaning :
The harvested paddy rice is cleaned using modern cleaning equipment such as vibrating sieves, aspirators, and magnetic separators. These machines remove impurities like stones, dust, chaff, and other foreign materials.

2 Pre-cleaning :
Pre-cleaning is step that further removes large impurities and unevenly sized grains. It may involve using machines like pre-cleaners, de-stoners, and grain separators.

3 Dehusking :
Husking or dehusking is done to remove the outer husk layer from the paddy rice. Our rice mill use high-capacity automated husking machines that employ friction, impact, or shear forces to separate the husk from the rice kernel. These machines are often equipped with rubber rollers or abrasive surfaces to efficiently husk the rice.

4 Paddy Separation :
After husking, the mixture of brown rice and unhulled paddy grains is passed through machines called paddy separators. Paddy separators use a combination of sieves, air blowers, and gravity to separate the brown rice from the unhulled grains.

5 Whitening :
The brown rice obtained from the previous step still has the bran layer attached. Our rice mill utilize advanced whitening machines, such as abrasive-type or friction-type whitening machines, to remove the bran. These machines are equipped with adjustable settings to control the degree of whiteness desired.

6 Polishing :
Polishing is an optional step performed to enhance the appearance and texture of the rice grains. Mills use machines with abrasive surfaces, known as polishers, to polish the rice kernels. The polishing process removes the remaining bran particles and gives the rice a glossy finish

7 Grading and Sorting :
After the rice is polished, it undergoes grading and sorting based on size, shape, and quality. Modern rice mills employ automated grading machines that use electronic sensors, cameras, and computer algorithms to sort the rice into different grades. This ensures consistent quality and reduces manual labor.

8 Color Sorting :
In Our advanced rice mills, color sorting machines are used to further enhance the quality of the rice. These machines use optical sensors and image processing technology to identify and remove any discolored or defective grains.

9 Packaging and Storage :
The final step involves packaging the milled rice into various packaging options like bags, sacks, or bulk containers. We use automated packaging machines that weigh and fill the rice into the desired packaging format. Proper storage conditions are maintained to preserve the quality and freshness of the rice.
